Someone know how to prepare cocoamidopropylbetaine with solid content over 40 %?

i have been trying to prepar cocoamidopropyl betaine with solid content above 40 % but i only have reached 37 % of solids. Every time i try to increse the solids content it forms a gel.

You should react the amide intermediate with sodium monocloro acetate.

But you will find a high viscosity reaction media and high sodium chloride contents in the end product, as a by-product of the reaction.

Maybe a small quantity of a non-volatile alcohol (propylene glycol?) could help to lower the viscosity in the end step. You should test...
