Hello! I am attempting interfacial polymerization with hexanediamine and a diacyl chloride with HSP parameters of D 18.0, P 11.3, H 6.8 (predicted). I have attempted polymerization with hexanediamine and NaOH in water and the diacyl chloride in dry tetrachloroethane or DCM. The organic phase is slightly cloudy due to incomplete solubilisation but TLC post-filtration confirms at least partial solubilisation. Some white material begins to form at the interface but nothing close to a film that can be pulled with tweezers. I have also added a few drops of DMSO to organic phase to achieve complete solubilization but same result. I am concerned the acyl chloride is simply hydrolyzing as it is highly soluble in water (diacid is almost only soluble in water). I will confirm this with nmr but was hoping someone may have suggestions.. I was maybe thinking diethyl ether/ DMSO solvent system??

thanks for your help!
