Solar energy is a great asset of Uzbekistan. Solar days in a year 300 days and therefore the use of solar energy in alternative renewable energy is the most profitable project.
По оценкам Азиатского и Всемирного банков, валовой потенциал солнечной энергии в республике Узбекистан превышает 51 млрд. тонн нефтяного эквивалента, что составляет 99,7% всех исследованных до настоящего времени ВИЭ в республике.
People do consider solar energy as a great and valuable energy source in space, water heating, and perhaps lighting for the cold weather countries. Such applications are economically becoming acceptable.
Uzbekistan is a country where solar radiation is particularly intense. Therefore, taking into account the "monopoly" of hydrocarbon fuel, 90 percent of electricity, wear and tear of power grids, Uzbekistan has become a platform for the development of alternative energy sources in Central Asia. Construction of solar power plants was developed for Bukhara and Samarkand regions.
The Republic is expanding the use of renewable energy sources (VIE). According to experts, the total potential of solar energy in Uzbekistan exceeds 51 billion tons of oil equivalent.
In 2017-2021, Uzbekistan plans to implement projects for the construction of five solar photovoltaic stations. The cost of projects on the VIE will be 1.88 billion dollars.
Renewable energy has made a big splash in the energy sector. Despite the initial investment, alternative energy is cheaper in the long run and reduces our dependence on fossil fuels. For some parts of the world, the development of solar energy really makes sense. Take, for example, the deserts of Egypt and India. With intense sunlight throughout the day for almost the entire year, solar power can be the key to meeting ever-increasing electricity needs.California has the largest solar projects in the United States because of its vast, mostly uninhabited desert areas. These power plants include "Topaz Solar Star" and "Desert Sunlight Solar Farm", each of which produces 550 MW of solar energy per year. No one, however, defeated Solar Star (formerly known as the Antelope Valley Solar Projects) in Rosamond, California.
By 2030, about 25 solar power plants (SES) will appear in Uzbekistan, Deputy Minister of energy of the Republic Sherzod khadzhayev said.
According to khadzhayev, Uzbekistan intends to build about 25 solar stations in the next 10 years.
"The country's first solar power plant with a capacity of 100 MW is scheduled to be put into operation in the Navoi region. According to the schedule, we will start construction work this year and complete them within two years, " khadzhayev said.
