Hi.

I have indium and want make aqueous InCl3 (for electrodeposition of indium with indium counterelectrode).

Is there a simple synthesis for aqueous InCl3? Could I just put indium in aqueous chlorine (and perhaps heat)?

It appears that using HCl would give me InCl2 which I'm not sure is suitable for electroplating.

Please note I'm not a professional chemist and have limited equipment!

Thanks
