I'm preparing silica NP controlling the size by using different concentration of NH4OH.
1- 16.75 ml ethanol.
2-0.5 ml TEOS.
3- NH4OH (0.3- 0.5- 0.75- 1 ml)
mixed for 24 hr then evaporate the ethanol to get a silica powder.
When i did the DLS to measure the size i took 100ul immediately when i stop the reaction and and mix it with 1ml ethanol. I found the targeted size (30-50 nm) but after i dried the silica i prepare another sample (1:10 in ethanol) and i found the size above 200 nm.
is that due to aggregation?
