With varying concentration of Linalyl acetate, Linalool and β-Caryophyllene, how is the fragrance and the quality effected? What is the significance of these compounds in oils of lavender? Does it increase the fragrance or decrease?
There are excellent papers on the essential oil compositions of lavender and lavendin and also very informative review articles. You may search for these papers in Journal of Essential Oil Research, Flavour and Fragrance Journal and B.M. Lawrence's columns in Perfumer and Flavorist.
quality of the lavender is not based on linalool or linalyl acetate or caryophyllene, it is purely based on lavandulyl acetate, if the level of lavandulyl acetate increases the cost will increase. linalool / linalyl acetate / caryophyllyne coast may be 10-30 USD/Kg but the lavandulyl acetate, will 1000 USD / 100 mg.
