we usually set the cells under serum starvation (for example 0.5% FBS) overnight or for 24h before drug treatment. my question is should i keep cells under serum starvation during drug treatment?

i think 10%FBS would be better for proliferation assay, besides, the pre-serum starvation could also be ommited; serum starvation would be useful for activation, for example, phosphorylation, during drug treatment that usually lasts for less than 2h.
