Recently ResearcherGate (RG) replaced the “Likes / Dislikes” with “Recommend” for an answer or a question posted. At the same time, the total recommendation on the right hand side of each answer / question displays all the names of the recommenders. Do you think RG should enable everyone to see everyone’s recommenders in a post? Will that be any reciprocal effect e.g. you recommend / don’t recommend me, I recommend / don’t recommend you? Feel free to share your thought. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for your question, my answer is YES, and I hope so, and at the same time "recommend facility" is approximately similar to reviewing process, means, we have (must) recommend the only tough posts and strongly related to question topic supported by websites, documents, ...etc.

I utterly disagree with the second sentence "you recommend / don’t recommend me, I recommend / don’t recommend you" but full agree with your modern thinking style.

Although the Question was asked more than 2 years ago, it remains topical.
I recommend interesting and challenging Q&A, as well as published papers I read.
My activities on RG suggest that reciprocity in terms of Recommendations is not a serious concern.
Other academics can do as they please.
This is an interesting Question, although academics would generally seem to have little impact on RG policy and practice.
Recommendations are useful in acknowledging interesting and useful Q&A.
There are occasions when Recommendations can be excessive, but this is not a serious issue.
