I am currently trying to perform some immunohistochemistry studies in goldfish and I need to find antibodies for the HTR1F, HTR1E, HTR3a and HTR6 that works in fish. My main problem is that the available antibodies work well on mammalian but in general they do not work in fish. I have already tried some antibodies without success. Does anyone know about some of these receptor antibodies that work with fish?
It's been quite a while since I did any work in this area so this may be way off base, but have you considered raising anti-goldfish ab in a mammalian system (mouse or rabbit), and using the anti-goldfish ab as conjugate for the mammalian antibodies that you already have. If I'm thinking correctly, doing this would even multiply the signal quite a bit. It worked for us way back when I was working with clownfish.
