Dear all,

I’m conducting a meta-analysis on an intervention’s impact on learners’ emotions. My dataset consists of correlation coefficients for both positive emotions (e.g., enjoyment) and negative emotions (e.g., anxiety, boredom). When I combined all of these into one overall effect, the result was non-significant. However, each study individually shows significant positive effects on enjoyment and significant reductions in anxiety and boredom.

In this situation, would it be more appropriate to split positive and negative emotion outcomes into separate analyses rather than aggregating them together?

Thank you in advance for any advice or references!
