If the papers are published before writing thesis, and in that case if the material from papers are copied into thesis are considered as self plagiarism?
It is a wrong concept to hide the previous related publications, better those should be cited. I am acting as Associate Editor of one journal. We generally give preference to the Review article writers with a good number of previous publications on the subject of review article.
The reverse of the present subject of discussion are sometimes seen. Author cite his/ her previous articles though those are having no relation with the submitted article.
In many Universities, publication of 2-3 articles from the research works is among minimum requirements of submission of Ph D thesis. So in such cases how the question of plagiarism arise?
