Hello, Iam M. Chaithanya, pursuing Ph.D. My title is EFFECT OF TOOL GEOMETRY AND THERMAL ANALYSIS OF FRICTION STIR WELDING PROCESS. As part of my work first step is to select material on which friction stir welding to be done.i need to select base material on which work as not yet been done. Development of Materials for Advance Ultra super critical application in power-plant is most critical. Material joining is more peculiar in that.The joining of SS304HCu and Inconel 617 found most important in it .Z phase and MX precipitates formation has been reviewed by arc welding .research has not been done in Friction stir welding aspect .Hope it gives you an idea .Let me know for further
Hi congratulations for your research. FSW work well mostly on soft metals and it's alloys. Mostly people select aluminum and copper for this. I did my PhD work on 'FSW on Steel'. This welding was achieved by adopting an additional heating source for in situ heating. If you are interested you can find papers on my profile.
