I often see requests for suggestions about "fast publishing" journals, however I do not think this should be the main reason to select a journal. Fast publication often indicates weak peer review and lower quality of the journal.

Most journals today pre-publish accepted papers online, and I think it is better to wait a little longer for a higher-quality journal.

I would suggest journals that better fit your study/research. You can take look at the page of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) in the Web of Science website. Once there, you can look for different journals depending on the area, e.g. medicine, biology, mathematics, statistics, etc.

I would suggest a journal that respects your time and consider your work for review as soon as possible. I think every journal should pay some money from what they get for publication fees to reviewers to do their assignments as a job. I had experience with some publication organisation, I think Mdpi is the best organisation that respects the scientists' time.

Most of the conventional journals are losing their worth sooner or later due to their attitude towards authors in terms of time for peer review and later publication in case of acceptance, a researcher for example completing a project in 5 months waits almost 1.5 years to have feed back. in this case fast track publishers are more good because time is precious.

I would suggest MDPI journals if you can pay the APC ranges from 1000 to 1500 CHF. You will save your time with a quick and accurate review process.

In my own opinion, I think MDPI still remains the best: rigorous peer review, fast article processing (assigning AE to your article), and quick publication time. Although, the only barrier is their APC which is on the high side ranging between 1000 - 2200 CHF. The APC sometime ranges based on the journal JCR ranking.

Be aware about the suggestion “AJRSP”, this journal “Academic Journal of Research and Scientific Publishing” is suspect. Besides its pompous or simply ridiculous title (really an academic journal of research and scientific? … that is a lot of Science right) there are more red flags:

-Had a look at some of the published papers (vary a lot in quality, lot of spelling errors and no sign of real editing)

-No DOI

-Promise of fast publication (no real peer review possible)

-No serious indexing

-Mentioned indexing is full of misleading metrics (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ) like ISI index, DRJI, CiteFactor, you often see in relation to predatory journals

They are relatively new (2019) and not mentioned in the Beall’s list (but for sure they soon will be). I think it is one to stay away from.

I agree with Dr. Rob Keller

From my experience as a special issue guest editor for MDPI's Energies I cannot recommend them. Scientific quality suffers from rapid publication times, in my point of view. They ask a high number of reviewers and take the first two or three which are too poor too often.
