Reverse electroplating on Counter electrode during Prussian blue deposition?

Usually it has been witnessed that a deposited layer is introduced not on a working electrode but on a counter Pt mesh. 3-electrode system was employed with a potentiostat.

-reference: Ag/AgCl in 3 M KCl solution,

-working electrode: Au (ENIG),

-counter electrode: platinized titanium mesh (2*2 inches).

The size of WE was just 0.5cm of diameter.

Dear Jimin Lee, it all depends on the sign of the voltage applied between the working electrode and the reference electrode. If it is larger than the OCV (open circuit voltage), oxidation will occur on the working electrode and reduction on the counter electrode. if it lower than the OCV, reduction will occur on the working electrode and oxidation on the counter electrode.
