Greetings ResearchGate community,

I have been working on new ideas and exploring research gaps as well as the latest trends in the field of Blackout and Network Restoration. I haven't been able to find any concrete ideas to pursue for a potential research topic so far and I am confused between different directions for pursuing the research.

I would like to request the insight of experienced professionals in this field and would appreciate their guidance/valuable opinions on the viability of the following topics that I am working on and perhaps introduce me to the latest research trends in this regard.

  • Integration of advanced restoration strategies (in addition to the classical top-down and bottom-up strategies) in the grid restoration planning with higher involvement of the DSOs
  • Automation tools for the control center operator in the event of a blackout and the consequent implementation of a restoration strategy
  • Analysis of voltage stability requirements of the grid and its impact on the operational capabilities of the black-start capable generation units during the restoration process
  • Looking forward to a valuable discussion.

    Best regards,

    Yasir Shamim
