but a little of 1-octadecene remained which is hard to remove.
when i washed it with ethyl acetate, particled
no more disperse in hexane.
do you know how i can wash nanoparticles to get dried nanoparticles?
Hi Seokmin, are your iron oxide NPs soluble in water?
If so, you can use water and ethyl acetate as a 2-phase system to get rid of the octadecane. Plus octadecane is less water soluble at low T.
If nothing else works, you can always try to burn off the octadecane.
my NPs are soluble in nonpolar solvent like n-hexane because it is capped with oleic acid.
Hi Seokmin, you could try sonicating them into an aqueous solution and separate the particles by gel filtration.
