The G' phase is coherent with G matrix in ni based superalloy.

And this coherency of G' phase is governed by elastic state between G and G' (as sum of interfacial energy, strain energy and elastic interaction energy).

In here, I have a question.

If the grain boundary is refined by something, the interfacial energy for grain boundary will be larger to satisfy the new grain nucleation. If so, that interfacial energy will affect to G' phase in grain.

I want to know how that will affect to the morphology of G' phase and mechanism. Additionally, I want everyone to recommend some paper regarding my question.

Thanks a lot.
