I know of these pneumococcal vaccines PCV-10 (Synflorix), PCV-13 (Prevnar13®) and PPV-23 (Pneumovax23®) being used in different countries. However, I also know that some countries produce and use their own pneumococcal vaccine.
Can someone tell me the name of these vaccine, what the target is (how many serotype the vaccine cover), is the vaccine conjugated or not, and what country the vaccine is accepted and used in?

PCV7 is a heptavalent vaccine, containing the cell capsule sugars of seven serotypes of the bacteria S. pneumoniae (4, 6B, 9V, 14, 18C, 19F and 23F), conjugated with diphtheria proteins. It was manufactured by Wyeth (which has since been acquired by Pfizer). A new Cuban heptavalent vaccine candidate (PCV7-T) is currently undergoing clinical evaluation. Seven- valent vaccine (PCV-7) was approved in 2000 and provided protection against serotypes 4, 6B, 9V, 14, 18C, 19F, and 23F. PCV-7 was recommended for all children ages 2–23 months to help prevent invasive infections and for selected children aged 24–59 months, and its implementation signi cantly reduced invasive pneumococcal infections caused by those serotypes in the United States and other countries within 3 years of introduction (see Paradiso, 2011).
