Geinitz names a gastropod as "Strombus bicarinatus d'Orbigny" in 1849, referring to d'Orbigny's "Pterocera bicarinata" (1843). Both are different species. Question: Is the epithet "bicarinatus" available from Geinitz to name Geinitz's species as Tundora bicarinata?
i think that if the 2 authors published the same name with 2 different genera, both should be available

Geinitz does not introduce a new name, but a new generic assignment (with the genus Strombus), but it's not a taxon of d'Orbigny ... it's Rostellaria bicarinata Leymerie, 1842 [Rostellaria bicarinata Leymerie, 1841 is a nomen nudum]; Pterocera bicarinata in d'Orbigny is a new generic assignment ...
