Hello everyone, we are considering getting a drone for field work, which will mainly involve fracture/fault/facies analysis from outcrops in carbonates or mudrocks. There seems to be plenty of options and I was wondering if there is some specific recommendation from the community. We will need the drone itself plus high resolution imaging of course and any other option to add to this field exercise if available. Any advice would be highly appreciated to narrow down the choice.

Hei Andreas - we use a DJI Phantom 3 here at UNIS - great integrated solution and quite cheap now that the Phantom 4 came out... you should visit us in summer and see it in action :-) Cheers, Kim

Hi everybody, I also interested know the better options for drone applied to high resolution stratigraphy. In fact, I have steep and inaccessible cliffs that I would like to scanner/track with drone.

I fully agree with dimitri. We have quite good results with the DJI vision 2+ but the 4 is preferable for its range. I would skip the DJI 3
