From Erwin and Ribeiro: solution A contains (g/L distilled water) KH2PO4 (0.075), K2HPO4 (0.075), MgSO4.7H2O (0.05), ZnSO4.H2O (0.0022), FeSO4.7H2O(0.0005), MnCl2.4H2O (3.5 x10-5). Solution B: (g/50 ml distilled water) Ca(NO3)2.2H2O (0.1). Solutions A and B are autoclaved separately and mixed before use to prevent precipitation. Disks of mycelium are incubated in Petri plates of the solution.

OK- that sounds like a lot of work. I used to work with P. capsici and did not find it to be fussy. You could incubate the disks in 0.1 M MES buffer, which is pre-mixed and easily autoclavable, or you could just prepare a sterile 1% soil extract solution. Either ought to work. You let sporangia form, then you put the plates in a refrigerator for an hour, then pull them out, and as the solution warms up, zoospores are released.
