Dear colleagues,
I attempted to establish a cardiac fibrosis model in SD rats using isoproterenol (freshly dissolved). I administered subcutaneous bolus injections at different concentrations (1–5 mg/kg) and in rats of different ages (200–600 g) 3 days consecutively. However, the mortality rate reached 75–90%, which is significantly higher than the rates reported in the literature.
Am I doing anything wrong? Or should I just abandon? Thanks!
