Your project is one I have been following among several researchers. There is much resistance in English Deptartments to these activities in the US. Have you used content analysis software such as VBPro? It has the capability of searching text strings such as start-and-stop coded speeches?
I used VBPro to study all the characters in Stoker's Dracula. Published in MLA journal Extrapolation.

Excellent software for use in content analysis. Thanks for sharing, Dr. McMillan.
Don't mean to jump into this conversation uninvited, but I think there is great utility for the use of such software. VBPro is great. The tools I've been using include WordStat (and Python language processing libraries). Also, there's a free website called wit.ai that will allow you to teach it how to extract entities from texts. It's fun to play around with and entity extraction has tons of application to social research.
