yes, it is possible.

I usually use MeoH/ water gradients. And C8 cartridges instead of C18 if possible, than it works pretty fine.

I've also have done it. I've used the technique to increase the loading for prep HPLC. The flash worked well enough that prep HPLC just needed "polishing".
