What are your experiences in treating clinical depressive episodes that developed following a COVID-19 infection? Are there any specific contraindications or precautions in using antidepressants in these survivors?
In my experience the clincal depressions that develop from this isolation often is very exogenous in nature. I.e a factor from the outside causes it. For that kind of depression CBT is often more effective than antidepressants.
If antidepressants are initiated the response/effect has been maybe slightly better than with "normal depression". I suspect its the recurring social contacts with healthcare that cause this difference
