One of the arguments against the above extension is that of added complexity , more wires at every stage etc. Could introducing SCR's (Silicon controlled rectifiers) help in realizing an analogue of time division multiplexing of the power waveform instead of spatial multiplexing thus avoiding the added wires and complexity ??? Could this also be handled through filtering and other DSP techniques ?? A related thought : Could the use of SCR's in valve control mechanisms help in reducing the necessity for complex gear / mechanisms (pun intended !!) thus helping in weight reduction, design simplification, reducinh the possbilities of error etc ??
