Please...,anyone give the guidance to perform SEM and MIP tests on Bentonite clay?

My project is on Analyzing the Ageing effects of expansive clay soil ; Micro-structure approach.For this, I need to perform Scanned Electron Microscopy(SEM) and Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry (MIP).I had some confusions while performing these tests(sample preparation,how I can conduct SEM test for compacted samples etc).Please suggest any journals regarding this.
