Please,
When we need to use primary antibody in western blot, for detection the proteins.
Any one is better, monoclonal antibody or polyclonal antibody?
Monoclonal Ab is best to target the specific protein.
Monoclonal is usually more specific so you get less non-specific bands but it can occasionally give you less signal.
Polyclonal on the other hand is less specific so you are more likely to get non-specific bands but you can also get more signal.
Almost every time I would recommend sticking to monoclonal.
Monoclonal is more specific .
Monoclonal is specific for the tested protein but it may give you less signals weak bands.
Polyclonal is less specific and you will get non-specific bands but strong signals.. strong band.
My recommendation start with monoclonal antibody. If bands are clear it is Ok . otherwise p
It mainly depends on the expression level of your test protein in the cell. If the expression is low, use a monoclonal antibody. Because monoclonal antibodies are more sensitive. ---creative diagnostics
Hi;
Monoclonal antibody offers greater sensitivity for detecting proteins.
With my best regards
please, what is the differences between NIH swiss mice and Swiss mice? is there a differences or no? thanks
