I do not know this organism and have not tried this, but you might try a water pick type device used for cleaning debris from teeth and gums. Some have adjustable pressures and various attachments, so this may work with some trial and error. I have seen an adjustable water pressure dental device such as this on Amazon that cost between $25 and $50.

You can use different size of Shives (macrobenthic fauna collection shives) for avoiding the sediment.

For identification of species, you have to dissect the carapace and observe the appendages.

May be you can try under control suction method and you must adjust the suction degree to minimum to avoid the effect on the material adjust the sedements.

you want to determine ostracodes in fine-grained sediments which are much finer in grain size than the tests you need for determination of the species. So I would suggest a step-wise use of the settling tubes (Atterberg Method). You get a separation by the grain size and the lion share of fine-grained material will settle very late. If there are some non-clay minerals still present such as quartz or feldspar they will be easy to be sorted out during your determination and not bother you. If you want a clear suite, you can apply additional heavy liquids to separate also these minerals from each other. But the majority of matrix minerals you can get rid of by the settling tube procedure (use some detergents to prevent the formation of clay aggregates).
