I am looking to validate the information generated from metagenomic sequencing. I know that I can carry out qPCR to validate my data. And I guess Random forest regression analysis can be done too. Apart from this does anyone have any knowledge or in that case good articles, please share.

>> Metagenomics analysis can be amplicon based or whole genome metagenome sequencing, shotgun based or NGS/highthroughput, what do you have?
>> Validation of what and in what sense? There are tens of software and hundreds of analysis that can be done in-silico and experimentally. You need to think and decide what you want and can.
>> Statistical analysis such as random forest you mentioned and several others, can tell a lot and predict, but in metagenomics for newies, this is just a fancy and lucrative terminologies. To use such an advanced machine learning approach, one must be having solid basics in metagenomics, bioinformatics and statistical analysis.
