Is there a PI3K inhibitor that has no direct effect on mTOR? All of the PI3K inhibitors that I tested (LY294002, PI103, GDC 0941 and Wortmannin) are reported to have direct inhibitory effects on mTOR itself...
The problem is mTOR belongs the PI3K related family, so most PI3K inhibitors will have some mTOR activity. I think the key question how selective you want or require the inhibitor to be for PI3K over mTOR. Most likely what you will need is a PI3K inhibitor that is selective for one of the PI3K classes, this should have lower mTOR activity.
This is quick guide to "known" commercially available PI3K inhibitors, but the data is proabably not complete
