we want to test a new drug whether it cross the blood brain barrier or not and useful to treat the brain cancer i.e. glioma. how can we detect whether the compound crossing the blood brain barrier or not?
any specific techniques or method.

Dissolve your compound in proper vehicle and administer it to mice or rats orally or parenterally. In order to detect if your drug has crossed the BBB, you have to humanely kill the animals and take their brain out, and homogenize the brain tissue using tissue homogenizer. Finally, using an GC-HPLC you could determine the amount of drug which has crossed into the brain.
