I'm setting up a pesticide residue screening method on a Waters UPLC-MS/MS system. Most application notes suggest a 10 mM Ammonium Acetate buffer, but I'm seeing better results (so far) with a 5 mM Ammonium Acetate buffer. Can any one with more experience on pesticide residue screening comment on why a 10 mM buffer might give better performance?
I think 5mM ammonium acetate is better when you are intended to use UPLC-MSMS

In case of LC-MS/MS, for better results it is wise to use ammonium acetate or ammonium formate at the time of mobile phase preparation. But, the amount of ammonium acetate or ammonium formate depends on your method criteria. It means that at the time of method development how much amount you are added for best results. In my case, I have found good result using 5 mM.
