I'm using the NEB gDNA extraction from tissue kit to get phage DNA as they have developed a method for doing so. I'm struggling with the step in the image below. There is this very viscous/stringy liquid that is very lightly around the beads and it is very tough to pipette everything but that viscous stuff. Is that the DNA? Or other contaminants that I should be removing and I should just assume that the DNA is bound to the beads without seeing it? I know in some protocols there is such a high DNA yield that you can see it. Thanks for the help!
