History tells us that these unique architectural features have been very solid and reliable. The Blue mosque (in Turkey) is an example (among multiple examples) showing resistance and persistence.
yes that's what I also demonstrated during my research on the citadel of the old city of Oran in Algeria, noting the resistance of this system to the earthquake of 1790. Thanks a lot

Once the geometry of the element or the system itself of a structure is curved one (other than line or plane) it has extra dimensions to create internal forces to resist the external physical actions (loads). The result is a more efficient structure. The examples are arch, domes and shells. The other examples of efficient combinations of plane and linear geometry are folded plates and trusses. The classical works of Prof Vlasov V Z from early fifties clearly show it.
