In PCR purification protocol, what does the phrase "centrifuge at 12,000xg" mean? Is it the same as the normal 12,000rpm centrifugation or there is a special formula to calculate this?
G is not the same as RPM. You can use a G RPM Calculator such as

or check the manual of your centrifuge; on Eppendorf centrifuges you can usually switch between G and RPM to be displayed.
Sabine and Kadryn thank you for your answers. But my centrifuge has only rpm readings. I do not clearly understand Sabine's link on the conversions. Kindly help me know how i can convert this figure to run it on my rpm centrifuge
Which kind of centrifuge do you have? What's the maximum in RPM you can run on it?
There is a standard formula for this conversion in which you may enter the rpm, and radius of the rotor.
