Hi. I faced a problem in a simulation with particle tracing module. Is there any way to change the shape and geometry of the particles in the particle tracing modules? For example turn the sphere shape of the particle to the cylindrical or any other arbitrary shape and defined geometry? Should I be using FSI (fluid structure interaction) multi-physics module to specifically define solid shapes or particle tracing module?

go to models - DP -Injections - set injection properties - physical models
The physic which you want to simulate determines the model. I need further information to suggest a model. All in all, please note that Discrete Phase method in fluent is a one-way coupling. You cannot study the effect of particles on the fluid medium. back to your question, you can use different models of implementing force on the particle in ansys fluent. With this option, you can study different shaped particles. Ansys Fluent implements different formulas to calculate drag force on the particle.
