I would suggest a book by Andrew booth (available in researchgate) : he has also many specific articles about qualitative synthesis.

• I would not recommend Cochrane handbook, JBI and other similar references that are though useful for intervention effectiveness systematic reviews but less relevant for qualitative synthesis in discipline like psychology. I would also suggest other types of literature reviews depending on the type of review question ( Metanarrative reviews, critical synthesis, scoping reviews...) and your available time .
