Hello,

I am having a serious overload (shown in figures) in the rig when I insert the bath electrode in the perfusion chamber.

I tried:

1) I check the amplifier problem using a model cell- which worked perfectly fine.

2) then I tried check the connections from the headstage to the reference electrode- by altering with another electrodes, yet the problem persisted.

3) I have two channel units and both of the channel units are not working.

4) I checked all the parameters- all looked fine and the grounding from the electrodes were also removed.

Interestingly, my colleague had been able to patch the previous Friday and I started patching on the following Monday. But today my colleague also observed the same problem in their rig.

1) What could be the reason for this ? Is this default with the electrical system supply to the room? Because our supply is from different sockets in the same room? Could someone help and explain this ? Even after taking the plug from the socket the reference electrode-showed overload.

2) then how did the model cell work ? When I inserted the model cell the resistance was only 500 Mohm.

Observation - the voltage shown in multiclamp when not immersed is less and when immersed it's going to -ve direction.

I use a 700B Axopatch. Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you, Sooraj.
