Overexpression in Insect cells of a membrane protein gene codon optimized for mammalian protein overexpression?

A Membrane protein gene is codon optimized for mammalian cell overexpression but we want to now overexpress in Insect cells S2 Schneider cells. The CAI value is 0.81. Is it worth a try going forward to overexpress the GOI in insect cells?

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for your reply. I have received different answers for this question. I have an alternative to get a codon optimized gene for insect cell expression only if the over-expression does not work with the one that is available, I have to stick to this for now. I will get the answer only if I do the experiment so I will proceed with it.
