Importins can shuttle between nucleus and cytoplasm and hence they are not specific to nucleus. Most of the nuclear proteins bind to DNA or associate with membrane.

Hi Goodwin! I don't care if it is present in the cytosol; I am just looking for a nuclear protein that is not interacting with chromatin.
