I am using Nostoc cyanobacteria. But the growth is extremely slow (takes more than 60 to see little growth days). i tried using Nitrogen free medium of BG11 and ASN. yet the growth is not good. Can someone tell me the ways to increase growth?

I am using BG 11 without sodium nitrate (for Nostoc commune) and the growth of Nostoc is good. I think you should grow it in liquid culture (BG 11 (without Sodium Nitrate) ) first since they prefer liquid culture than in solid medium.
