Does anybody used custom normalization of cDNA library by Evrogen? For shipping RNA samples, Evrogen recommends using Biometrica RNA stabilizer. Does anyone have experience using Biometrical RNA stabilizer? Any idea what will happen if I send the RNA sample in ethanol (after precipitation)?
Dear Binu, For shipping RNA samples in dry ice, you can use ethanol. Just redissolve the total RNA in nuclease-free water to reach a final volume of 100-300ul. Add 1/10th volume of 3M NaOAc, pH 5.2; add 2.5 volumes of 100% ethanol. Mix well and vortex. Store at -80 or in liquid nitrogen and ship in dry ice. Alternatively, you can ship RNA in freeze-dried condition, in nuclease-free water or in 100% formamide (ionized).
