Premise: I have never used the plotting function you mentioned.

Despite of this, I can suggest you a workaround by defining the levels order manually through the factor function. Supposing df is your data frame, and col1 is the column where you store the variables you want to show, you could write:

df$col1 = factor( df$col1, levels = c('level1', 'level2', 'level3') ),

to accomplish your task, provided that c('level1', 'level2', 'level3') is the new order.

Drawback: you are changing the original data.

thank you very much for your reply. I am quite puzzled though, mostly I think for my inadequate knowledge of R. What I don't understand is how can I link the ordered list defined by the factor function to the variables with which I feed centralityplot. Also what you mention as a drawback is worrisome, because if the data change then the plot will change too and this must not happen
