Hi all,
I need to add a negative growth rate of particles in the Fluent through UDF. I have written a code and put a negative growth rate instead of positive growth rate. What i see is that fluent is not running and it is giving a message of "interrupting ...." . What i see in the residual plot is that, residue is shooting up while I add negative growth rate.
I think fluent has specified growth rate always should be positive.
I need a quick response.
Any kind of help will be appreciated.

I suppose that your simulation is fine when using a positive growth rate.
If you use a negative growth rate, it means that your particles are dissolving instead of growing. You may need to make sure that after one time step, the sizes of smallest particles do not become negative. This depends on how big of the time step, how small of the smallest particles & how big of the negative rate.

This i was also thinking that sometime particle size is becoming negative. so the error is showing up. But even if i reduce the time step size, particle size has to reduce to zero.
I tried to reduce the time step size as small as 1e-10, bit no chage in error.
is there any other way?. i think the problem is with the negative growth.

But negative growth rate is determined by the physics of the problem. I cant forcefully reduce it. Is there any other way to solve this problem?
