The "Z centre position" goes to "Retracted" just after engaging. The scanner and optical head seem fine as the problem occurs with two different heads and scanners (J and E). Any suggestion to look into some settings or any other thing?
Akash Nathani I used to have the same problem. On our Bruker system I was able to adjust some scaling parameters to get that value to be mid range. If the z-range is off it's possible it thinks it is crashing when you engage.
I would go to standard/default conditions/alignment and try. If there is no reason for hardware failure to me it also looks like a problem with the correct gain settings or head/tip alignment.
Thank you for your replies. I worked on your suggestions but later figured out that the problem is with the electronics of the controller. The high voltage value which should be about +/- 223 V is around +/- 300-350 V. So probably need to replace the controller.
