I am attaching the gas chromatography analysis report here.
The shape of peaks in my calibration report doesn't look fine.is'nt it?
What in your opinion is the reason
1) of these irregular peaks?
2) Why the shape of baseline in detector 2 is not smooth near Nonane(time=36.6)
3) Reason of variation in response factor deviation in every calibration (of 4 heavy hydrocarbons in detector 2)

Let me ask you, what is your detector type? FID, MS or MSMS?
If you have MS or MSMS, you can do individual scans for each analyte to see the actual peak of that analyte, and determine the reason for the odd-shaped peaks on Total Ion Scans (if this is an MS detector).
If you have FID, try injecting these analytes individually. For example, inject butane alone (there are liquid standards for Butane that supposed to be stored all the time at -20 C or lower to prevent evaporation of Butane). Check for the individual peak shape and verify if they have different peak shapes when injected individually from when injected all together.
Doing this can reduce the amount of troubleshooting you may do.
Usually the baseline looks odd near the peaks of the analytes. This is commonly caused by the column's chemistry. You may want to refer to the certificate of analysis that came with your column and see if the manufacturer has a similar odd peak for these hydrocarbons or not.
TCD is not the best option for Hydrocarbon analysis by GC.
FID is more suitable because all hydrocarbons are flammable and can be easily detected.
MS or MSMS are the best detectors because they analyze your samples based on the masses that elute from the GC Column.
You may be using a non-complaint detector my friend!
