Actually am trying to use regression for my paper where am drawing primary data questionnaire(independant)from few universities students and trying to establish relations with student enrollment(dependant) numbers of 5 years from the these universities
Thus trying to study impact of independant variable on dependant variable thru regression
Please suggest with sample as am not expert in statistics
You DV and IV do not seem to be okay. If you want to use repeated measures from now and 5 years ago you have results from time 1 to compare with time 2.
5 years ago could explain now but now does not explain 5 years ago. DV is the variable that shall be explained and IV the variable that predicts or explains.
Your type of data decide which type of regression you may use. The data of questionnaire is a discrete variables like 0 and 1. In this case, logistic regression may be proper for you.
As stated earlier, your outcome measure and the relationships between the variables will dictate which regression to use. You need to pay attention to sample size, variable distributions, variable scales, and to different assumptions that different regressions have. I suggest you involve a statistician in order to be sure you are using the correct regression and that you are introducing the variables into the regression correctly.
