Hello fellow researchers, I am in desperate need of help!
So I am trying to synthesize electrospun PVDF nanofibers and have only been getting nanosprays so far!!
i have dissolved it in DMF, papers say above 20% but once i get to 20% it’s very viscous. So I have tried 18% PVDF, viscosity looks ok but it is refusing to make nanofibers. In DMSO it doesn’t get to the desired viscosity.
i tried dissolving in DMF : Acetone, 2:1 ratio and 1:1 ratio, same problem.
what am I doing wrong? I tried a lot and followed reputable papers but still nothing.

To get PVDF nanofibers instead of nanosprays, increase polymer concentration to around 20–23% in a DMF:acetone (1:1) solvent mix and gently heat to reduce viscosity. Also, optimize electrospinning parameters like voltage, flow rate, and tip-to-collector distance for stable fiber formation.
Abdelhak Maghchiche I did 20% in 1:1 DMF:Acetone, still no fibers.
Needle gauge: 20%, distance 12-15 cm, voltage tried high above 25 kV and low too, and increased RH% to 20-40% So far nothing!!
What type of PVDF did you use? What am I doing wrong?
Use high molecular weight PVDF (≥275,000 g/mol) at 20–23% concentration in a DMF:acetone solvent (around 1:1), and carefully optimize voltage (15–25 kV), flow rate (0.5–1 mL/h), and tip-to-collector distance (15–20 cm) to achieve stable nanofiber formation instead of nanosprays.
