As Agronomist with small experience in remote sensing I would like to ask about NDVI obtained in different years.

We assume, that NDVI of non-living objects, such as roofs of buildings, which were not reconstructed, painted etc should be the same. However, we noted, that the NDVIs of such objects changed at different dates. In June 13th, 2013 it was about 0.07-0.11 higher, than in May 6th, 2014 (some details in the file attached).

May it be explained only by different Sun position (June vs May) or other factor? I think it was not caused by rain, as relatively similar precipitations occured 3-4 days before the date of each Landsat 8 scene.

The issue is quite important, because we would like to know, if it is reasonable to compare NDVIs (derived from Landsat 8, after atmospheric correction, but also from other satellites) of winter wheat obtained for different years.
